Do you still read event announcements? If so, what's the cost? Burleigh for the “Body of Christ” as an alternative to the sometimes overused music often heard during the Easter season. There are pieces in the style of classical anthems, spiritual, up-tempo gospel, hymns, slow ballad-style gospel, jazzy gospel and praise and worship music – something for all. Covenant Missionary Baptist Church was organized in 1999. Under the pastorate of Reverend James B. Lewis, Sr., the music ministry has reached out into the community for thirteen years annually presenting a worshipful concert during the Easter and Christmas season for the community. This year, as many years past, there are vocalists from area churches that will participate in this musical presentation. The choir is directed by D’Jaris D. Whipper-Lewis, Minister of Music at Covenant and accompanied by Reba Williams, Church Organist. There is no admission fee for the concert but an offering will be lifted for the continuation of the ministry.
